Remedies for Dog with Diarrhea
Dog Diarrhea
Everyone dog has his days; if your dog is feeling mischievous and gets himself into the garbage, he may end up with a case of diarrhea that will leaves you holding your nose, and cursing the sky. The problem is when diarrhea occurs in spouts that are intense, and last up to three or four days. This isn't caused by eating something funky, and could be due to something else entirely. It's important that as a responsible pet owner you look for symptoms, and approach your pets life with a healthier approach.
Acute diarrhea is just that – chronic bouts that can last up to three weeks, but will generally end after a few days. These are periods where feces will be extremely watery and stinky, leaving you and your pet feeling the pain....and pain there will be! When these spurts occur, your dog may also have a fever, stiff joints, trouble keeping food down, and feeling more sleepy then usual. These can all occur as results of the diarrhea, which can take a toll on your dogs body if it's happening frequently enough.
If you want to avoid these bouts of illness all together, chances are you can. As long as there are no serious threats to your dogs health, diarrhea can be a side effect of poor diet. If your dog is eating food that's no good for him, switch up to a more healthy option. Monitoring what other treats your dog gets is also important, and keeping tabs on all “people” food that goes in to his/her belly is another way to avoid a mess. If your dog is currently suffering, switch over to a meal plan that consists of only brown rice, and boiled or baked chicken breasts. This simple diet will cleanse his system, and help restore things back to normal!
